Here are the promised Dr. Horrible costume pictures! I'm ridiculously proud of this costume. Also,  for those of you in town and able to come out to the show, I might just possibly be doing a Dr. Horrible number at the May Fake Mustache. Just a heads-up. ;)

Been busy. Not really with as much school stuff as I ought, though. Finals are next week and I've barely started studying. Still, I'm not too worried about them, which is almost downright bizarre. Last term was the first term where I managed to not have some sort of nervous breakdown at the end of term (or the middle of midterms, depending). I'm glad I could keep it up for this term as well.

My Dr. Horrible costume is pretty much done. In about a week and a half, because I'm crazy. I'm sure I'll have pictures of it eventually so I can show off. It's pretty good, considering how long it took and how I didn't want to spend much more than $100 on the whole thing. Personally, I'd rather it was completely accurate, but I realize that wasn't about to happen. It still looks pretty darn neat, and the bubble gun works! Yay bubbles! I was going to go to the midnight showing of Dr. Horrible and 'Once More with Feeling' but I don't know if I will anymore. There's no-one I really know that's going, and I really ought to start studying for my finals.

Plus I want to bake cupcakes. I mean, really.

The weather's been absolutely fantastic. I hung out with Jess and Taz and a bunch of their friends yesterday at Prince's Island. We threw around a frisbee until Jess fell into a puddle (which was hilarious!) and then decided she was too cold to play anymore. It's warm, but not that warm. I cleaned up the garden today, which was nice. Quite a few of the plants are coming in already, probably because they were sheltered by the massive piles of leaves on top of them. I'm just glad to see green again.

So yesterday was a busy day. Party in the afternoon, swing during the evening and Rocky at midnight. In case anyone didn't know, I went as the Corpse Bride, which involved making my own costume and painting (with Caro's help) myself blue.
I don't think I want to paint myself any colour any time soon. Goddess, what a pain. >.< Plus it started rubbing off when it wasn't supposed to, so by the end of the night I was a patchy blue instead of an almost-fairly-even blue. I also have blue all over my costumes.
The party was mostly spent watching movies and getting costumes on. Carolyn didn't show up till late, so it was mostly Caro, Jonathan, Jonathan's 'friend' Sam and me there. We watched movies and ate pizza and hit each other with Caro's crop.
Swing dancing in a train is something I don't really want to repeat either. There weren't very many people there, and not many people wore costumes. Wusses. If there'd been a costume contest I totally would have owned it.
Rocky Horror was sweet. It seems to get better with time (except the weather, which was bloody cold), probably a good thing considering we're probably going again for New Year's. I need a really, really long coat or something so I don't freeze my legs off. There was a costume contest there, but I didn't win because I was blue. Everyone was too busy going wtf? to even look at my costume. So sad. I could have won an art print and a severed hand.

Today was a day of recovering from yesterday. I'm kind of glad there was daylight savings. Still, I basically collapsed at five and got up an hour ago. I don't want to go to work tomorrow. It will involve a lot of explanations of why I'm quitting. I wish 'because it sucks' was diplomatic enough, but I do kind of want good references. (sigh)

Honestly

I finished my costume! Horray! Now I just have to remember everything Saturday, which will be somewhat difficult considering I have two costumes plus normal clothes to bring (there's no point in showing up in costume when I'm going to be painted blue and will have to just take it off anyway). I wrote a list of all the crap I have to bring. It takes an entire page in my to-do notebook. Psychotic. I'm thinking of packing it all in a suitcase simply for ease of organization.
Some random brat started grabbing cookies at work today. In front of his Mom, who didn't seem to mind, until one kid grabbed two cookies. By then, of course, it was too late. The other cookie is automatically garbage because - honestly- who knows where the brat has put his fingers? It just pisses me off because she could have made her kids wait thirty extra seconds and I would have been there helping. But, no, that would be too hard, wouldn't it? Teaching your kids patience and consideration of others is just too hard! What if it hurts their ever-so-fragile self-esteem? Where will we be then? You can't teach kids that other people have authority over them for they might actually realize they aren't the centre of the fucking universe. And, you know, the world would end if little Bundle of Joy started crying or something.
Honestly. Some people's kids. Some people's parents.
Don't get me started about the stupid guy who started ranting at me about the fact that we don't have any of the on-sale bread in stock. You know, because it's not like I have any power over ordering or pricing or putting ads in flyers or anything.
Idiots.
Fucking, retarded sods.
I hate my job.
You're all surprised, aren't you?
This weekend is set up to be great, though. If busy. I should be going to bed or something. I need to re-dye my hair tomorrow because I made a botch the first time. Amusing side note: the hair dye cost less than the toothbrush.
Yes! Rocky Horror! Swing! Being painted blue! So excited.
